Whopping numbers of unemployment and underemployment are on the rise exponentially in the country, particularly among the youth category between the ages 18 & 40 years, mostly comprised of graduates.
Part of the menace is not the fact that there is no job, rather, the accurate information, channels, and flexibility, and criteria for qualification for job accessibility are either inappropriate to merit the job opportunity. It is on the back of this that the Youth Employment Agency (www.yeajobcentre.gov.gh) is outdooring this initiative as part its responsibilities to mitigate the issue of unemployment in the country in partnership with the private sector.
The job fair is planned to take place in selected regions in the country, after the success of the Accra edition.
The fair is designed to focus on three areas to impact the youth.
- Entrepreneurship and Startup Pitch
- Career Guidance
- Job Fair
For Entrepreneurship Pitch:
This is designed for the youth who have an idea to start a business or are into an existing business and need support to scale up, by pitching and presenting your proposals.
Note: Only successful applicants will be invited. Registration ends on 26th October, 2021.
For Career Guidance and Capacity Building:
This session is designed to coach and educate graduates (Job Seekers) and undergraduates (Interns) on the right steps towards their career path. It is also designed to prepare the youth on the need to adopt the entrepreneurship culture and how to start up a business.
